'You'll Never Walk Alone' is the official anthem of Liverpool Football Club. The song is originally from the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical 'Carousel' (1945). The song is used by the club because the most famous version (in the UK) was by a band from Liverpool called Gerry and the Pacemakers. They recorded it in 1963 and Liverpool's manager at the time, Bill Shankly, loved it.
This song was suggested by Alvaro in T7 who believes this is the best English football anthem. He obviously hasn't heard Derby County's anthem 'Steve Bloomer's Watching.' It's a classic.............sort of.
