YOLO - The Lonely Island (feat. Adam Levine & Kendrick Lamar)



The Lonely Island are an American comedy group originally from California.  YOLO is an acronym for 'You only live once.'  The song was released in January 2013 and is making fun of the use of the term YOLO.  YOLO normally means that you should take risks in your life and live dangerously but in the song they are using YOLO to say you should not take risks and be very conscious of your safety.

You'll Never Walk Alone - Gerry and the Pacemakers/ Liverpool FC


'You'll Never Walk Alone' is the official anthem of Liverpool Football Club.  The song is originally from the  Rodgers and Hammerstein musical 'Carousel' (1945).  The song is used by the club because the most famous version (in the UK) was by a band from Liverpool called Gerry and the Pacemakers.  They recorded it in 1963 and Liverpool's manager at the time, Bill Shankly, loved it. 

This song was suggested by Alvaro in T7 who believes this is the best English football anthem.  He obviously hasn't heard Derby County's anthem 'Steve Bloomer's Watching.'  It's a classic.............sort of.

Call to the Warrior - Affiance


Affiance are a metalcore band from Cleveland, Ohio.  They formed in 2007 and have so far released two albums.  'Call to the Warrior' is taken from their first album 'No Secrets Revealed' (2010).  I really like the video, particularly the point (2.05) when the drummer lightly hits the cymbal.  This song was suggested by David in T6.
