Blue Jeans - Lana Del Rey
Lana Del Rey (originally Elizabeth Woolridge Grant) is an American singer songwriter and the song 'Blue Jeans' is taken from her second studio album 'Born to Die' (2012). This song was suggested by Nieves in T6. Great song Nieves and cool video, although swimmimg with a crocodile would freak me out big time!
Lonely Day - System of a Down
System of a Down are an Armenian American rock band from Southern California that formed in 1994. 'Lonely Day' was released as a single in 2006 and is from their 2005 album 'Hypnotise.' If you listen carefully, you will hear the double superlative 'most loneliest' which is grammatically wrong but here it's used for effect, and what the hell it's a song he can do what he likes.
The video is even more interesting, particulalarly as it has a reference to the Pink Floyd album 'Wish You Were Here' (1975) about 48 seconds in. I love Pink Floyd! This song was suggested by Raúl in T7. Great song Raúl and fantastic video.

Asleep and There is a Light That Never goes Out - The Smiths
I love The Smiths, I really do, but 'Asleep' (1987) is very depressing. Probably their saddest song. It was suggested by Manuel. Although Morrissey could have a negative view on life, he could also be very positive about it, as shown by 'There is a Light That Never Goes Out' (1986). Okay, so the song talks about being hit by a 'double decker bus' or a 'ten ton truck' but the basic message is one of hope - that of eventually finding love. You see, Morrisssey is an old romantic after all.
